Gitga’at and Haisla First Nations will carry out a Creel Survey in the Kitimat Area and have engaged the North Coast-Skeena First Nations Stewardship Society to operate the project on their behalf. A crew of five technicians will be needed to fill full and part-time positions from June 1, 2022 through to August 31, 2022, to staff this fishery monitoring program operating out of the MK Bay Marina. The wage range for these positions is $25-$30 per hour depending upon experience.

Duties include the following:

  • Conduct dock-side interviews with anglers returning from recreational fishing trips to collect fishing activity data
  • Conduct vessel counts during a float plane survey of the fishing area
  • Careful handling of anglers recreational catch
