The Curlew Fieldworker will survey and monitor breeding Curlew populations and monitor nest sites for breeding outcomes. They will assist in the implementation of a satellite tagging project and predator management elements – such as nest fencing and capital works, where relevant.  They will liaise with farmers in the project areas and foster good working relationships.

Requirements

Essential

  • A degree in a relevant scientific discipline, e.g., ecology, zoology, environmental science or similar.
  • Previous experience of carrying out bird surveys.
  • Understanding of breeding wader ecology and the factors affecting breeding Curlew in Ireland.
  • Ability to compile data, analyze results and write reports. GIS experience is desira
