Denver Zoo’s Field Conservation department has an opportunity for a full timeRio Mora Research and Restoration Specialist to implement research, monitoring, restoration, capacity building, and community engagement efforts that contribute to Denver Zoo’s Field Conservation Department efforts to restore ecosystem function and conserve biodiversity at Rio Mora National Wildlife Refuge (RMNWR). The RMNWR Project is a key part of the Zoo’s Rocky Mountain/Great Plains Field Conservation Program, and the Specialist will support the design, implementation, and evaluation of research and habitat restoration activities; engage with landowners about applying restoration interventions across the Mora watershed; help build the capacity of the next generation of conservation leaders; and represent Denver Zoo to diverse stakeholders including governmental agencies, NGOs, universities, tribes, RMNWR visitors and local landowners. This position requires a multi-faceted skill set in ecological research, restoration, and community engagement. We do not expect applicants to have significant experience in all areas at the time of application; those with experience in the majority of these facets, and with an openness to learning the remainder, are encouraged to apply.

This position is based at Rio Mora National Wildlife Refuge (RMNWR) in rural northern New Mexico.
