An exciting opportunity
has arisen to join the small environmental management team of the
Devon &
Severn IFCA
,
based in Brixham
.
We are looking
for a motivated, organised and effective
communicator
to undertake research and gather information to study the effects on the marine en
vironment as well
as the socio

economic value of the inshore fishery within the Devon & Severn IFCA area.
Applicants must have a marine environment related degree or equivalent work experience within the
marine environment. Experience in delivering res
earch projects
, undertaking surve
ys and writing
research reports is essential.
The Post holder will be expected to initiate and undertake research, investigations and monitoring
programme at sea, in estuaries and along the
coast
to fulfil the Authority’
s fisheries and environmental
responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be r
esponsible for
helping with
the
evaluation and
regulation of
the
inshore fishing
industry
in the Devon & Severn IFCA district
and giving environmental
advice to local
and na
tional groups, as well as educational presentations
.
The successful candidate will be expected to travel within the IFCA district as well as attending
meetings and conferences around the country.
The post holder is
entitled to 15
days annual leave
.
Flexible working is required.
