Description of Work Salary Grade 70 - Recruitment range $39,632 - $50,795 The Biologist II manages the NC Division of Marine Fisheries observer programs, which collect at-sea data on protected species interactions, finfish bycatch and discards in commercial and recreational fishing gears.  This position ensures that observer programs are conducted in accordance with the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA).  The employee compiles and analyzes observer data and prepares reports for distribution to the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and the NC Marine Fisheries Commission.  The position directly supervises at least eight professional and technical staff.  Strong skills in supervision to include recruiting, hiring, perfor
