ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position is involved in the planning and execution of monitoring and research projects for the Shrimp and Crab Bureau of the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR). Duties include: shrimp and crab sampling, data management, monitoring of Mississippi’s interjurisdictional fisheries, opening and closing of the annual Mississippi shrimp season, writing grant applications and tidelands proposals for the continued research and effective management of Mississippi’s marine fisheries, and the development and implementation of marine fisheries management recommendations and regulatory changes.
