It’s a great time to be an Ecologist at North Somerset Council. You will be joining a newly restructured Natural Environment team helping to deliver actions from our new green infrastructure strategy. You will have opportunities to lead on advice for the emerging Local Plan, help introduce and deliver biodiversity net gain, engage with colleagues at across the West of England and be part of a wide-ranging project to better understand our greater horseshoe bats. You will need to demonstrate an understanding of ecological planning issues and your work will include prioritising responses to planning applications, compiling reports and providing planning advice, undertaking habitat regulations assessments and advising colleagues on the council’s major projects.
