The Intern will maintain and expand the Musconetcong Educational Trail from a .5 mile trail system, restore a 1.3 mile segment, and construct a new 2 mile segment to make a 3.8 mile loop trail along the Musconetcong National Wild and Scenic River in rural NJ. The trail setting is a riparian forest, wetland, and meadow, along a fast-moving cold-water stocked and Native Brook Trout fishery, set against a backdrop of 600’ forested mountains. The surrounding area is small farms, compact historic districts, and some modern houses and commerical areas. Trail work tasks will include: mowing with a brush hog, clearing woody brush with a powered Brushcutter and hand tools, trail blazing, painting trail blazes, installing wayfinding signs, installing planks in wetland areas
