The Salmon River Enhancement Society is looking for an environmental coordinator to develop a stream and ecology based outreach and education program for summer 2022. The program will be focused on Langley’s Williams Park.

The coordinator will work with SRES and our partners (Kwantlen First Nations, LEPS, Rivershed Society of BC and Township of Langley) to develop content and to recruit volunteers to educate visitors, much of it on an informal basis. Williams Park is near the center of Langley with the Salmon River, an important stream for coho and other salmonids, running through the park.

The successful applicant will require the following skills and experience:

  • An outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills
  • A driven self-starter, requiring little supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • An interest in ecology and nature

Additional experience and qualifications that would be a benefit in this role:

  • Valid First-aid certificate
  • Experience with designing or implementing interpretive programs
  • Experience working with children

As this position is partly funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Program, applicants must be between the ages of 15-30. Salary will be $20/hr, 35 hours/week and duration of 8-10 weeks (depending on start date).
