RSPB Geltsdale is one of RSPB’s largest and most spectacular upland nature reserves, situated in the North Pennines close to Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish border. It comprises over 5000 hectares of blanket bog, heathland, new woodland planting and enclosed farmland, supporting a huge range species, including curlews, black grouse and birds of prey.

What’s the role about

The role will be focused on the maintenance of Geltsdale’s physical infrastructure and habitats. This will involve regular inspections and on-going repairs to walls, fences, gates, footbridges, trails and the volunteer accommodation.  Upkeep of the newly planted woodland areas will also be a priority and will include re-planting, weeding and tree shelter removal.
