Overview

The UK’s largest shooting and conservation association is seeking to recruit an Executive Director of Conservation to be based at BASC’s Head Office at Marford Mill, Rossett.

The successful candidate will be a member of BASC’s Executive Team and have a seat on the association’s governing Council. The role will provide inspirational leadership and direction to both the conservation department and across BASC, to achieve the conservation vision and strategy of the Association.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised, driven and solution-oriented self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, member-focused ‘campaign’ environment.

Applicants should have significant conservation experience and be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge and experience of conservation and how it relates to shooting sports and countryside matters
  • The ability to manage the development and implementation of specialist conservation and science related policy and guidance
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to develop new ideas into positive actions
  • Leadership skills with the ability to develop, manage and motivate teams
  • Strong interpersonal and motivational skills with discretion and good judgment
