The Schlumberger Foundation selected the most recent Faculty for the Future women in STEM from emerging and developing countries engaged in post-graduate studies at various universities around the world. Out of over 600 applications received for the 2017-2018 academic year, 38 new Fellowships were granted and 140 were renewed, showing the engagement of the Foundation to its current grantees and their work while continuing to grow the community in areas least represented. The research focus of this year’s cohort of new Fellows is diverse, with the top three disciplines being engineering, climate & environmental sciences and chemistry. Most of the research proposals of the new cohort of Fellows are related to regional challenges their home countries and regions are currently facing,
