Maintenance Officer

Circa £23K per annum + Benefits

Permanent / 37.5 hours per week.

Established in 1943, our network of Learning Locations provide day and residential courses for all ages, from young children to retired adults, from schools and communities throughout the UK, reaching many others through our publications and community-based programmes.

 

What you’ll be doing

This is a busy, active role and will require you to be able to carry out duties associated with maintenance work, including manual handling tasks, e.g. moving and operating equipment and tools.

You will be responsible for overall maintenance and improvements of the learning location buildings and grounds. As well as being responsible for carrying out routine Health and Safety monitoring, checks and record keeping.

Where you’ll be based

Located next to Box Hill in Surrey, the Field Studies Council Juniper Hall centre has beautiful scenery and countryside surroundings yet is very easy to reach by car or public transport.

We can accommodate a maximum of 130 guests, in two accommodation blocks. There are a variety of room types including single, twin, triple, and dormitory rooms. Some rooms are en-suite and others have shower and toilet facilities close by.

As part of this position, you will also be required to provide occasional maintenance support at Field Studies Council Amersham and Field Studies Council Epping Forest.  Where this is required, this will be agreed in advance and appropriate notice will be given.
