The selected intern will participate in rearing endangered Atlantic salmon from several listed populations at a cold-water conservation hatchery. Activities include releasing juvenile and adult Atlantic salmon, collecting biological samples for disease screening, feeding adult and juvenile broodstock, cleaning rearing units, conducting monthly growth monitoring of juvenile and adult salmon, maintaining automated feeders, assisting in moving, sorting and grading juvenile salmon, PIT tagging future broodstock, spawning, egg enumeration and care, electrofishing, and stocking multiple life stages of Atlantic salmon.
