The California Chapter’s Forest Restoration Program aims to prepare the forests of California for an era of climate change, restoring the historical complexity, abundance and resilience of the Sierra Nevada’s magnificent forests while also reducing risk to human communities posed by catastrophic megafires. Over the past five years the Conservancy has implemented a multipronged strategy to increase the pace and scale of ecological restoration.
