Major Responsibilities:

  • Conducts site visits in various settings to take photos and measurements, collect data related to tree planting such as species, location and site conditions and monitor planting survival, tree health and insect/disease problems.
  • Assists in identification of potential tree planting sites on street right-of-ways, open spaces, parks.
  • Participates in surveys for specific signs and symptoms of tree pests (Emerald Ash Borer, Asian Long Horned Beetle, European gypsy moth, Eastern Tent Caterpillar, etc.) on trees located on public and private lands.
  • Performs minor pruning of branches of trees as required, working from the ground.
