The role seeks to help shift Australia from a global deforestation nation, to a Reforestation Nation, and hasten the national completion of the forestry-to-plantations transition. New South Wales transition opportunities will be a dominant focus, with an expectation to respond to other strategic opportunities around forestry and forest management in other states (e.g. Queensland, Victoria) and federally. The position plays a key role in supporting the achievement of WWF's Towards Two Billion Trees program goal to save and grow 2 billion trees in Australia by 2030.
