Seasonal, part-time position responsible for conducting creel surveys, fish community monitoring, sportfish monitoring, and submersed vegetation mapping. Primary responsibilities are (1) conducting a 24-week (November 2023 through May 2024) roving creel on Lochloosa and Newnans Lakes in Alachua County and (2) electrofishing on lakes and rivers in north central Florida.

Job Duties:

Specific duties associated with these responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing anglers about their catch and harvest of freshwater fish as well as assisting biologists with electrofishing surveys, trawling, fish measurement and identification, aquatic plant identification, data entry, collecting fish carcasses from a local fish camp, otolith preparation and age determination, and co
