Applications are now invited for a 3 year funded PhD position at the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) based in The Marine and Freshwater Research Centre (MFRC), Dublin Road campus, Ireland. This PhD research will be carried out under the SEAMONITOR project. The key objectives of the research are to deploy acoustic monitoring equipment as part of the SEAMONITOR array to derive cetacean spatial models to inform management plans. Furthermore, the soundscape of the area will be described and modelled and anthropogenic threats identified.
