Overview

Animal Defenders International Wildlife Sanctuary (ADIWS), South Africa, is seeking a General Manager on 6-month contract (with extension options) for the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary, South Africa, currently home to lions and tigers rescued from abuse in captivity. The Sanctuary received our first African lion residents in late March 2019; all rescued by ADI from circuses in Peru and Colombia. In 2020, we were joined by lions and tigers rescued from circuses in Guatemala. Our Sanctuary is a place of loving kindness, where animals who have suffered abuse can enjoy the freedom to choose what they want to do and where they want to be, in extensive natural habitats. We are building a green sanctuary; installing solar power, planting trees, welcoming local wildlife to rewild (to the delight of our circus survivors). Water is solar-pumped from natural springs. A haven of peace inside high-security electric and alarmed fences. Future plans include an education centre to welcome local schools to see (but not touch) our residents, volunteer and intern schemes. See: https://adiwildlifesanctuary.org.za/
