In cooperation with the USFS Eldorado NF, the Great Basin Institute is recruiting a Senior GIS technician. This position will provide technical expertise to modify and develop data and GIS applications for forest restoration, NEPA planning, and invasive plant management programs. The incumbent will report to the USFS Program Manager and will support post fire recovery methods.  The incumbent will work independently and in coordination with other USFS staff and field crews.

Duties:

  • Update and improve forest natural and cultural resources geodatabase
  • Update geodatabases and file structures using ArcGIS 10.x and/or ArcPro 2.x for better integration with mobile data collection systems including: Avenza, Survey123, and Collector. Create standard operating pro
