This is fixed-term post for 18 months. This large net gain project will see over 80 acres of Biodiversity Action Plan habitat created on land adjacent to the route of the restored canal which is currently managed as arable and pasture. The Canal Environment Manager will lead the preparation and implementation of Conservation Plan C: Canal and River Corridor, Wildlife and Biodiversity, which is one of three Conservation Plans to be prepared for this HLF project. This role will involve commissioning and working with ecological consultants, hydrologists and engineers to complete baseline surveys and using these to inform the design of constructed wetlands and the reconnection of a river to its floodplain.
