The Grassland Bird Survey Field Technician will be responsible for conducting point counts in managed grassland habitats at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Target species include Grasshopper Sparrow, Eastern Meadowlark, and Upland Sandpiper. Technicians will be responsible for recording detailed observations and data in the field, field data entry, and other duties, as necessary. The position requires working independently in the field, walking long distances over potentially rough terrain, carrying equipment, and tolerating exposure to variable and sometimes adverse weather and environmental conditions.
