Member Schedule and Service Location: April 1st – June 30th, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, and some weekend
events, in Reno, NV and Lake Tahoe, NV.
Term of Service and Time Requirements: Quarter-time term, 450 minimum hours, April 2019 – June
2019
Position Summary: The Science Outreach Educator, an AmeriCorps member, will develop and
implement Great Basin Outdoor School Spring Program activities that align with Next Generation
Science Standards, pilot activities with students at science camps on the shore of Lake Tahoe and
other sites, and assist with STEM professional development workshops for teachers. The member will
work on community and outreach efforts, as well as extending opportunities for youth and adult
education through the development of standards-based content.
