Green Teams of Canada’s (GTC) community engagement model was first developed in 2011 in Vancouver to address social isolation, sedentary lifestyles, and a lack of local opportunities for individuals to make a positive tangible impact on the environment. Our future depends on deepening our connection to each other and to nature. GTC’s mission is to connect, build and empower diverse communities through hands-on activities that promote health, well-being and environmental stewardship. Activities include but are not limited to enhancing natural habitats through invasive plant removals, planting native trees and shrubs, and shoreline cleanups.   We support communities to:
