Description: Position Summary: The Coastal and Marine Scientist is a key member of our science, programs and policy team and is responsible for a variety of technical and policy projects related to the Santa Monica Bay and greater L.A.’s coastal waters. This consists of critically evaluating proposed policies, permits, regulation, and legislation that stand to impact local coastal resources from both a scientific and policy perspective. Focal topics include plastic pollution, marine protected areas, fisheries, coastal development, sea level rise and climate change, oil and gas development, and others.
