The Wyoming toad (Anaxyrus baxteri) is a critically endangered species endemic to the Laramie Basin. A new initiative began in the summer of 2019 seeking to focus on integrative research, monitoring and active population management to answer key questions regarding toad survival and habitat use. Interns will help with this effort by shadowing Service biologists and researchers from the University of Wyoming throughout the summer, learning how the Service interfaces with academia to facilitate science-based wildlife conservation.
