Summary/Position Overview

The Lead Integrated Content Strategist creates and plans internal and external communications and thought leadership pieces. The Lead Integrated Content Strategist primary directives will be to devise strategy and purpose for created content. This means where best to post, create and deliver content that broadens Panthera’s audience and position Panthera’s staff as global thought leaders in wildlife conservation, wildlife biology, conservation policy, and data science.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage Panthera’s global editorial calendar by pre-planning strategic content across Panthera
  • Supervise the production of high-quality content in breaking news situations, special projects, and long-term planning that raises Panthera’s visibility;
  • In partnership with communications and marketing, work on content production for website, social media properties and integrate stories and thought leadership
  • Work within Panthera’s front-end curation and back-end publishing tools such as Drupal and Pardot.
  • In partnership with communications and marketing work closely on strategic campaigns and fundraising initiatives.
  • In partnership with Senior Director of Strategic Communications and Public Engagement be Panthera’s primary writer for the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors
  • Work with the Senior Director of Strategic Communications and Public Engagement as lead on internal communications
  • Assist with partnerships and events team with all staff, board and directors’ meetings
  • Maintain our Content Style Guide
  • Work closely with Human Resources rep to maintain and update the intranet and tools associated with the Microsoft 365 package
  • Working with other members of the communication and marketing team to establish baseline KPIs to measure the impact of content strategy, ensuring accountability to the executive leadership and Board of Directors;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years-experience in communications, media and or marketing
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing and project management skills
  • Content marketing for Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Marketing, and Google Grants
  • Content Management System experience (i.e. Drupal)
  • Knowledge of Salesforce/Pardot
  • Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must have a natural affinity for PR, social media tools
  • Ability to report and analyze media KPIs using Google Analytics
