Glow Wild is Wakehurst’s largest commercial event, and a significant source of income for the organisation. As Glow Wild Support Officer you’ll be the support backbone of this exciting event and its operational delivery.

This will be a wide ranging role, and you’ll get the opportunity to work together with colleagues from all departments to organise an event which creates lifelong memories for our visitors. You will be directly responsible for organising the staffing of the event, as well as identifying, contracting and managing new and existing external suppliers/contractors.

Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is the world leader in botanic science and conservation, with two leading visitor attractions: The Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and Wakehurst. Wakehurst is Kew’s wild botanic garden in Sussex and one of the South East’s leading visitor destinations, with over 500 acres of formal gardens and designed landscapes, world woodlands and a tranquil nature reserve, and the world-leading Millennium Seed Bank.

We want a world where plants and fungi are understood, valued and conserved – because our lives depend on them.

We use the power of our science and the rich diversity of our gardens and collections to provide knowledge, inspiration and understanding of why plants and fungi matter to everyone

With experience of supporting large events or projects, you will have a proven track record of delivering high quality operations management at a visitor attraction or other public venue. Understanding the principles of team work and building good relationships is essential to the role, as is managing external suppliers.

You’ll need to be confident in applying health and safety processes to your work and the work of others. As the main point of contact for staffing the event, you’ll need great people skills, and be able to communicate to a wide range of audiences.

The salary will be £25,456 per annum pro rata.

We offer a fantastic range of benefits including a broad range of Learning and Development opportunities, with access to the Civil Service training curriculum, generous annual leave entitlement for new starters, family friendly policies, a choice of competitive pensions and flexible benefits scheme.
