The Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s mission is to protect, manage, and advocate for the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.   Position Purpose The Land Stewardship Team upholds a high standard for the protection of the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) Corridor, a long strip of conserved public land that forms the longest continuous natural corridor east of the Mississippi River. Land Stewardship Technicians monitor the A.T. Corridor, maintain its surveyed boundaries, and work to mitigate any encroachments they find. Backcountry fieldwork is the primary function of these positions.
