The Little Ouse Headwaters Project (LOHP) is a charitable company which was set up by residents in 2002, building on the work of previous voluntary groups. The charity is run by volunteers to promote the conservation and enjoyment of the fen habitats and landscapes of the upper valley of the Little Ouse which encompass internationally important valley fens. So far LOHP has acquired, restored, opened and reconnected 14 sites along the river totalling 72 hectares for the benefit of wildlife and the general public and received 6 national and county awards for its work. We have 220 members, 45 regular volunteers and 13 trustees who are also active volunteers, several of whom have ecological experience. The landholdings are a combination of owned and leased sites.
