We are now recruiting a trainee to support project staff in the delivery of the Marches Mosses BogLIFE project while developing a range of practical skills through working alongside experienced staff.

The Marches Mosses BogLIFE Project is a 5 year project which aims to restore large sections of the peatbogs of Fenn’s, Whixall, Bettisfield and Wem Mosses and raise awareness of their importance. The bogs are located a few miles west of Whitchurch and lie across the Shropshire and Wrexham county border.

This 9 month post is suited to someone embarking on a career in nature conservation. You should show commitment to environmental work via some of the following:

  • Working towards or having recently gained an appropriate qualification
  • Having experience in nature conservation through previous work or volunteering
  • An interest in natural history
  • Demonstrating a passion for the environmental sector despite its low pay, limited career prospects and working outside in all weathers
  • Showing a willingness to learn by embracing all aspects of the project
