The UK & Ireland team are looking for an experienced, keen advocate of the oceans and sustainable seafood. Someone who appreciates the MSC’s mission and values, and who is committed to making a lasting contribution to sustainable fishing in the UK & Ireland, and around the world.

In this exciting role you can expect to play a key role in the delivery of the UK & Ireland fisheries outreach team stategy, to support the retention and growth of the MSC program and mission in this region.

You’ll be working closely with the wider UK & Ireland team, to promote MSC certified fisheries and Fisheries Improvement Projects (FIPs), to deliver integrated projects that help drive success and contribute to the attainment of UK & Irish fisheries sustainability.

As this post will involve working with the UK and Irish fisheries and seafood sector, the successful candidate will need to combine a knowledge of marine and fisheries issues with a thorough technical understanding of this fascinating sector. You will also need to collaborate with the commercial and marketing & communications disciplines within the UK & Ireland team to help deliver an integrated approach to meeting our shared team objectives.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • extensive knowledge of the the UK & Irish fishing industry, fisheries management, fisheries science, conservation issues, and the seafood industry;
  • experience in successfully engaging with a wide range of different stakeholders, ideally within the fisheries sector;
  • successful experience in project management and strategy development;
