Hiring Organization: Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology Date Posted: 2018-05-04 Position Description: We are offering a research position (PhD or post-doc level) working on questions of communication in wild chimpanzees. The position will start in October 2018, and will potentially take two 9 months field seasons for data collection at the Taï Chimpanzee Project, Cote d?Ivoire (www.taichimps.org). Our general interest is to understand the communication between different sub-groups (parties) of chimpanzees of the same community. We are interested to investigate the cognitive and emotional underpinnings of communication, using behavioural observations, recordings of calls and playback experiments.
