Hiring Organization: Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology Date Posted: 2018-05-04 Position Description: We are offering a research position (PhD or post-doc level) working on questions of communication in wild chimpanzees. The position will start in October 2018, and will potentially take two 9 months field seasons for data collection at the Taï Chimpanzee Project, Cote d?Ivoire (www.taichimps.org). Our general interest is to understand the communication between different sub-groups (parties) of chimpanzees of the same community. We are interested to investigate the cognitive and emotional underpinnings of communication, using behavioural observations, recordings of calls and playback experiments. We will accept proposals on any question in the realm of sociality
