The purpose of this job is to play a lead role in developing our in-house expertise in bioinformatics and the analysis of genomics data.

You will work within the Molecular Ecology group at UKCEH Wallingford and with research groups across UKCEH, to develop and maintain genomics analysis pipelines to ensure that our data analysis approaches are up-to-date and fit for purpose. You will lead on the training and upskilling of our existing staff, and to play an active role in bidding for new areas of income.

Main responsibilities

  • To undertake research in environmental microbiology or molecular ecology based on the computational analysis of genomics data.
  • To design, implement and quality control genomics data
