Applications are invited for an MSc conducting research on bird communities and their conservation within agricultural landscapes. The successful applicant will be registered at the University of the Witwatersrand and undertake research within the School of Animal, Plant and Environmental Science (APES). The project is funded by the DST/NRF Centre of Excellence at the FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology.
The successful applicant will work closely with Dr Chevonne Reynolds, joining APES as a lecturer in January 2018, on questions relating to how agricultural land-use influences bird diversity. The project will be co-advised by Dr Dominic Henry (SEEC, UCT), with additional collaborators Prof. Claire Spottiswoode (Fitz, UCT) and Prof. Res Altwegg (SEEC, UCT).
