Description Help Joshua Tree National Park keep tabs on our native plants! Plant Phenology Monitor (PPM) volunteers will monitor the seasonal activity of individual plants in an effort to learn more about the plant's life cycle. PPM volunteers will be assigned a specific plant or plants that they will visit throughout the year and will collect data electronically using a tablet or smart phone. After receiving training, volunteers work independently but meet as a group once monthly. Botany experience is preferred, but applicants must at least be able to identify common plants and structures with training. Applicants must be able to hike up to 5 miles on a trail. Applicants must commit to volunteer at least one year and must visit their plant at least once per week during the spring
