Overview

The National Trust Council is looking for inspiring people

Are you energetic, enthusiastic, and determined to make a difference? The National Trust is looking for new candidates to join its existing Council. This is a rare volunteering opportunity for anyone with a genuine passion for the Trust’s work to have their say and help look after inspiring places for future generations.

The role

As a Council member, you’ll make important decisions, inform strategy and provide guidance and perspective to the Board of Trustees. A committed and confident communicator, you’ll also act as an advocate for the National Trust, using your networking and personal skills to inspire support for its work among members, the wider public and stakeholders.

Your experience

Whether you’re a CEO, civil engineer or community volunteer, your work and life experience are invaluable for this role. Age, profession and education are not as important as the desire to speak your mind and make a real difference. However, experience in urban and community-led conservation or knowledge of accessibility issues, would be a plus. So, if that sounds like you, put yourself forward for the National Trust Council Elections.

How to apply

To become a Council member, you’ll need to be elected by our members.  Applications open in mid-February and run until 27 March 2019. This is a great opportunity for anyone with a passion for the National Trust to have their say. Don’t miss your chance to make a difference.
