Primarily, this position will provide support for black bear management, wildlife human conflict and other programs across the  Region II with emphasis in the Roanoke Valley and other counties in this Region. Minimum Qualifications
  • The applicant should have a working knowledge of Virginia’s wildlife and natural resources.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities as a Natural Resource Specialist should be related to human-wildlife conflict, trapping, radio-collaring, tracking radio-collars, equipment maintenance, locating trap sites, and basic ArcGIS skills.
  • Furthermore, this position will support efforts to address the expansion of mange in Virginia’s black bear populations.
