Day 1: Arrival in Maun and transfer to Camp Kwapa

On the day the Private Wilderness Experience starts, you should arrive at Maun Airport around noon. A member of the team on site will meet you and the others to set off for your two-hour drive to beautiful Camp Kwapa.

After your arrival you will be greeted by the camp team, move into your shared tent and may enjoy a first afternoon drive in the spectacular Kwapa region.

Tour

Day 2-14: Exploration days in Moremi Game Reserve

For the following two weeks, you and your group will immerse yourself into the breathtaking depths of Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Each day, you will leave Camp Kwapa early in the morning to set off for a game drive or walking safari. Accompanied by at least one experienced guide, you will now get close to the incomparable flora and fauna of the region. Look forward to awe-inspiring landscapes and, with a little bit of luck, sightings of huge elephant herds, hunting wild cats and stomping buffaloes.

Before the midday heats sets in, you will make your way back to Camp Kwapa. Here, you will enjoy lunch together, join a classroom unit to broaden your theoretical wilderness knowledge and gather new energy during the following siesta.

In the afternoon, after some coffee, tea and crackers, you will leave the camp again to go on another certainly exciting bush excursion. After hopefully many more unforgettable wildlife sightings, you return to Kwapa in the evening to spend the remainder of the day enjoying a hearty bush dinner and gathering around the campfire to talk about the day’s events.

A typical day usually consists of two activities – either a game drive in an open 4×4 vehicle or a game walk. The daily meals are always taken in camp. All in all, there is no fixed tour plan – you rather let the rhythm of nature guide you day by day.

Departure

Day 15: Transfer from Camp Kwapa back to Maun

Day 15 marks the last day of your Private Wilderness experience – a certainly unforgettable adventure. Together with the other group members you will make your way back to Maun where you depart on your journey back home or to another destination.
