The officer, preventing ocean plastics assists in developing and implementing strategies and activities to advance the EU microplastic legislation and policies to reduce the trade in problematic plastics. This includes extensive advocacy and policy work and coordination with government officials, NGOs, scientists, and the business community to advance EU policy actions toward reducing microplastics emissions and reducing trade in problematic plastics at the World Trade Organization. This position is based in Pew’s Brussels office and is eligible for up to 60% telework from home, and reports to the senior manager, preventing ocean plastics, based in Pew’s Washington, D.C. office.
