The post holder will join a Team of ornithology advisers providing technical advice to support casework and policy development.  The work will address terrestrial ornithology but may occasionally be required to support work for the coast and/or marine environment. The post will: provide advice on casework enquiries, many of which relate to the impact of wind farms on protected bird populations; develop policy and guidance underpinning proactive conservation of bird species, including management of species conflicts, species recovery or surveillance/monitoring. This work will be done in partnership with NatureScot colleagues amd research, conservation and land use organisations.
