Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is currently searching for a postdoctoral investigator to join the Deep Submergence Laboratory in the Applied Ocean Physics & Engineering (AOPE) Department. The postdoc will conduct research with two focus areas. The first focuses on developing autonomous and semi-supervised manipulation capabilities for ROVs. The project will extend the capabilities of an existing autonomy framework, built on ROS, with an emphasis on virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) interfacing with remote ROV operators. The second focus will be development and testing of a low-power optical imaging system for an autonomous underwater vehicle. The appointment will be for 5 months.
