Project Background: The Freshwater Biological Association has been running the Priority Habitats project since 2019. Funded by Natural England, the project aims to train citizen scientists to carry out naturalness surveys in order to identify freshwater habitats of principle importance. Citizen Scientists are trained to upload their data to our national database (hosted by Cartographer) so that these areas can be prioritised for either protection or restoration. We are seeking a highly-motivated individual with a passion for working with people to deliver training and develop this project to engage more citizen scientists in monitoring our freshwater habitats.
