Overview

Summary Description: This fulltime (36 hour/week) position will report to the Executive Director and will be responsible for the programmatic success of BRN ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, quality control and evaluation. In this newly established role, the Program Director will directly supervise six program leads and manage a total program staff of 18.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cultivate existing relationships with staff, board, community members, partners, funders and donors with the goal of ensuring successful programming.
  • Develop and implement strategies that maximize synergies and cohesion between program areas.
  • Play a leadership role in organizational efforts including strategic planning, equity inclusion and justice, and financial planning.
  • Lead programmatic and project-based grant writing efforts in collaboration with direct reports.
  • Manage program budgets, communications, staffing and evaluation.
  • Evaluate the skill, experience, and professional development needs of staff to ensure growth and fill skill gaps.
  • Lead efforts to evaluate and enhance program safety protocols and procedures.

Required Skill & Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in program administration, a team leadership role or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Strong project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth.
  • Supervisory and HR experience including motivating, leading, setting objectives, and managing performance to retain staff, elevate levels of responsibility, as well as implementing corrective action as necessary.
  • Proven experience writing, winning, and managing grants from a wide range of sources.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for BRN’s mission.
  • Possess a current passport, or the ability to obtain one for cross border travel.
  • Driver’s license and personal vehicle for reimbursed travel expenses.

  • Spoken and written Spanish proficiency
  • Knowledge of local flora and fauna
  • Professional network in the Sky Islands region

Salary & Benefits: $62,000-68,000, based on experience. Employee benefits include full health, disability, and life insurance, PTO and paid holidays, monthly cell phone stipend, and employee contribution retirement account.

Geographic Location
This position is headquartered in Patagonia, AZ. The successful candidate will be required to be located close enough to make frequent trips to project sites in Arizona.
