Overview

The Endangered Landscapes Programme is looking for an organised, creative and collaborative Programme Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team in Cambridge’s David Attenborough Building, to support the programme’s communications and assist with building the ELP grantee network of restoration practitioners. This is a full-time role, where we are currently adopting a flexible, hybrid working approach. Deadline Monday 27 June (23.59 BST).

The ELP is managed by the Cambridge Conservation Initiative, a collaboration between the University of Cambridge and nine leading biodiversity conservation organisations – based in central Cambridge’s David Attenborough Building. Predominantly a grant-making programme, the ELP was launched in 2018 and since then has funded projects which are restoring landscapes to benefit people and nature across Europe.

For an overview of the programme’s vision and examples of some of the fantastic work of our funded projects, watch our new programme video below:

Working closely with the ELP Programme Lead – Capacity and Communications, the wider ELP Team, ELP grantees and various other internal and external stakeholders, the Programme Assistant will play a key role in helping to raise the profile of the programme to key audiences. They will also support activities which facilitate knowledge exchange and relationship-building between projects funded by the programme.

We are looking for someone with an eye for engaging stories, excellent organisational skills and a passion for landscape restoration. The ideal candidate will have experience of writing and editing copy, drafting documents for a variety of audiences, and have the ability to foster relationships with a range of stakeholders. Familiarity with social media strategies, online conferencing software and website editing would be an advantage.

This is an exciting time to join the programme, with the recent launch of the ELP 2022-2030 strategy, and the need for large-scale restoration of landscapes becoming ever more evident. To apply for the role and be part of the next chapter for the ELP and landscape restoration in Europe, please see the full Programme Assistant advert.

The deadline for applying for this role is 23.59 BST, Monday 27 June 2022.
