Thames Chase Community Forest was established in 1990 and covers an area of 40 square miles on the edge of east London and south-west Essex. It is one of thirteen national Community Forests known as England’s Community Forests. Since 1990, the creation of Thames Chase has been driven by its approved Forest Plan: The Thames Chase Plan (www.thameschase.org.uk).
