At the Bat Conservation Trust (BCT), our vision is of a world rich in wildlife where bats and people thrive together, so in 2021 we launched Project NightWatch. NightWatch is a free, tech-enabled citizen/community science project. Its aim is to ensure that everyone can access the benefits of connecting with nature, particularly those from urban and ethnic minority communities, and people living in urban areas. In 2021-22, we engaged with over 400 NightWatchers (24% of which were volunteers from an ethnic minority), ran events for over 1200, and reached an online audience of over 10,000.
