The Prairie Coteau landscape is a core landscape of Northern Tallgrass Prairie located in Eastern SD and Southwest MN. The Prairie Coteau is a glacially formed landscape that is key prairie pothole habitat for migratory and resident species. There is approximately 1 million acres of native prairie remaining in northeast SD and most of that is in private ownership. The Clear Lake program manages TNC sites along the MN River V
