The Nature Conservancy in South Dakota is looking to fill one full-time; temporary-regular position in its Clear Lake, SD location. The Range Technician (RT) is a very hands on land management position! The RT will assist with various prairie stewardship activities which will include: prescribed fire operations (ignition, control, mop-up, suppression, and monitoring) in the spring and fall, tree/brush removal, noxious weed control, fencing, firebreak installation and other tasks as assigned. The RT will serve on a burn crew of 6 to 8 people during fire season and will also assist in daily coordination and gain some “leadership” skills by helping with the oversight of the summer land management crew (1 – 2 short-term staff).
